Adults Are Catching Up With Kids in Text Message Usage
It seems that young adults have finally caught on to the magical world of text messaging. Really, how can anyone resist?
“A recent survey of American cell phone users conducted by Ipsos MORI on behalf of LogicaCMG Telecoms revealed that most of the growth in text and multimedia messaging is taking place among people aged 18 to 24. And young adults aren?t alone: the survey showed that usage of cell phones to check sports scores, get weather forecasts or order movie tickets is increasing rapidly across all ages at an even rate, with little difference between 18 year-olds and 40 year-olds.”
Researchers predict that in 2007, the amount of text messages send and received will increase by 50%! All ages are now starting to use cell phones for multiple purposes, whether that be news checkup, American Idol voting, or store location finders. The study also shows that more men than women watch videos and listen to music on their phones. Yet on the other hand, men are also more likely to complain about slow speeds and poor quality.
