Don’t be surprised by your cell phone bill

Whether you’re an obsessive texter, or occasionally send an SMS to a friend, you probably opened up your phone bill once to find charges you didn’t expect. It’s happened to everyone, I still remember being charged an extra $50 for text messages sent in one month. It’s not a fun experience.
Most phone providers offer texting plans to their customer. Verizon for example has a texting plan for $15 a month that allows you to send and receive up to 1,000 messages.
Many people tend to go over and aren’t aware of the costs, here’s a small breakdown for some major US cell phone providers.

The general fee for text messaging is usually the same for most providers. However, remember users also get charged for accessing the internet. Web browsing can incur high costs on your phone bill if you don’t use it sparingly. Of course this depends on your plan and how often you use it, but be aware of the price. While some providers charge per time, others charge per amount of data transferred.
